A landing page is a web page designed to turn targeted prospects into customers by:
- Generating sales of a specific product or service, and/or
- Capturing information for future marketing efforts
Customer information is normally captured by using a lead form. How much information you require in the form is a matter of debate, but at minimum you want name, email address, company and location.
Often a special offer that’s of particular interest to your targeted audience—a white paper, article, ebook—is offered as a free gift to entice them into filling out the lead form.
Since the landing page exists to generate sales and/or leads, building an effective landing page is critical for your success.
One key to that success is building your building page “by the numbers.”
